Julia

Julia started as a Kindergartener in Ms. Pat's class in 2005, the first year that Prairie Moon started shop. There were four Kindergarteners, Julia, Quinn, Maddy, and Emma. I had first been interested in Waldorf when our oldest child, Ben, was going into Kindergarten in 1998 in Minnesota. He was set to go to school there:
but we had a major problem - it was 45 minutes from our home and we only had one car. So we decided not to send him there.
Our family ended up moving to Kansas in 2001. I was a stay-at-home mom until Julia started school and then I decided to go back to graduate school to earn my Ph.D. in chemistry. I just couldn't see putting my daughter, my baby, in public school. She needed somewhere safe and nurturing and Prairie Moon I think came up on a web search. I ended up emailing Monica Eichler and coming to playgroup a couple of times and said, yes, let's do this. And so it began for our family.
